Colors With Safety in Mind

You will notice that most of our protective safety skirts are designed with alternating black and yellow folds. The reason for this is that black and yellow folds are proven to be the most visible to the operators of the equipment. In addition, the black and yellow folds indicate movement of the lift table.

Quality Designed Into Each Fold

You can also choose to get steel rods inserted into each fold of the lift table bellows to help the skirt maintain its form. We recommend this for any safety skirts for lift tables which are larger than about 40x 50. While the cost increase is nominal, both the appearance and the function of the bellows is greatly improved.

22 oz. Per Square Yard, Prevents Rips

Akon Skirting and Bellows skirts are manufactured from 22 oz. per square yard of vinyl. The 23 oz. flame retardant vinyl coated polyester, is sewn with size 138 polyester thread. The Coated vinyl will also out-perform laminated vinyl because of the constant flexing that the material will have to endure.

It is also important to consider that some suppliers will sell you 18 oz. per square yard of vinyl. While this is slightly less expensive, it is also going to develop cracks much faster than a 22 oz lift table safety skirt. As a general rule, the thicker the material, the longer it will last.
